Lake District
Just a short 30 min drive from any of our properties and you arrive in The Lake District National Park. With jaw dropping scenery it’s a great place to explore. Head into Windermere and take a ride on the Lake District Steamers, walk the hills in Coniston or head to the Market towns such as Kendal and Keswick and visit the traditional inns, shops and tearooms.
Trough of Bowland
Heading South from Lancaster, discover one of the original royal hunting forests and our second area of outstanding natural beauty. Newly opened access land means that it offers some of the most remote and rugged walking in the North West.
Ingleton Waterfalls
A marked 4.5-mile trail of spectacular waterfalls through ancient woodland, which takes between 2.5 and 4 hours to complete depending on your agility. Nearby is White Scar Cave, a beautiful subterranean landscape with a huge ice-age cavern adorned with thousands of stalactites. And, when you visit, you’ll find yourself in the Yorkshire Dales National Park – acres of wild moorland and more mountains.
City, Coast & Countryside Cycling Circuit
Lancaster and Morecambe District offer many miles of superb and scenic traffic free cycling. With designated cycling routes extending to Morecambe, Lancaster, the Lune Valley and further afield. The City Coast and Countryside Circuit offers a circular route of over 10 miles.
Morecambe Bay
Discover Morecambe Bay’s stunning promenade, extending over 6 miles and bustling Victorian towns and Art Deco glamour wherever you look. Uncover ancient sites and seafaring traditions. Marvel at spellbinding views and stunning skies of Morecambe Bay that seem to set the sea alight. Lancaster Castle
1000 years of heritage, history, Justice, felony and incarceration........not to mention the witches. Explore one of Englands most important historic buildings, with a fasinating and dark history, including the infamous Pendle Witch Trials.
Leighton Moss RSPB Bird Sanctuary

10 minutes drive will bring you to the superb Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Yorkshire Dales was designated National Park status in 1954 in recognition of its extraordinary natural beauty, the diversity of its wildlife habitats, its rich cultural heritage and its fantastic opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Dales offers superb opportunities for visitors including hiking, cycling and motorcycling routes as well as its many attractions including being a designated Dark Sky Reserve
